Chipping Sodbury Rugby Football Club was founded in 1949 by a group of gentlemen drinking in a local Hotel. Fifty-five years have passed since the days of meeting in the back room of a hotel, and now the club boasts four playing pitches, one training pitch, floodlit training, and a comfortable clubhouse with extensive changing facilities.

Martyn Lansdown, the new club Chairman, has been at the club for the ten years having played at all senior levels and has also coached the youth section for the last nine years. There are 3 senior teams that play locally and range in ability, of which the first team is Captained by Martin Hedges.

CSRFC have a thriving youth section with over three hundred young people attending. With-in this is a newly developing young ladies group, aged 12 to 18 and a very strong senior ladies run by the captain Lucy Lawson.

“We're a friendly bunch and are always ready to welcome new faces and not just player’s but social members. Families are welcome on a Saturday and Sunday and we have a full diary for parties, if you'd like to join as a social member the hire of the hall is reduced”.
